Brian sending Domino Theory

Brian and I spend our Saturday afternoon at Castle Rock. We first warmed up at the Magoos area with about one thousand climber. We soon moved to the Graveyard area with Steve who was visiting from Utah.

Claire's new car

Since your 1992 Toyota Tercel was giving up after 200 000 miles, Claire has bought her new car, a Subaru all wheels drive, which should come handy when the snow comes.

Twister Sister ABS contest

Benoit and I have registered to the ABS (American Bouldering Series). Benoit participated at one contest already, at Planet Granite (Sunnyvale). We went for the second contest at Mountain view. Since I needed to be there, I also climbed in the Master category.
Lucas did not want to watch us, so He decided to climb as well. He must have been the youngest competitor there.

The contest turned out to be fun. They put more than 160 routes for all abilities, the more difficult the climb, the higher the score. We will get the ranking soon (I'll keep you updated).

Lucas both relaxed and composed while following my indications.

Big holds, big moves, just what I like.

Santa Cruz board walk

On Sunday after the birthday party, we crossed the road and walked to the board walk. The park was about to close and few people were still around.

Lucas and Benoit were trying to get the ball in the net. They did not quite successed but they managed to win some kind of inflated hammer.

Benoit is somewhere in the photo.

Well junk food does still taste good :)

Fall bouldering morning session at Castle Rock

Joel and I warmed up at the Magoos for about 1 hour since it was so cold and windy this morning, which means great sticky conditions. We, then, moved to the Hueco wall where I am working the traverse version. After that, we spend some time on the Egg Head Arete, which Joel send (the left variation).

Fun mental problem left of the slap.

Joe contemplating his worst nightmare Hueco Wall. Not a problem he likes not like me :)

Joel sent Egg Head Arete (left variation) and is working the direct variation (V8).

Bear Valley Trip

After Benoit guitar's rehearsal, we drove in direction of Bear Valley up to Angel Camps, where we spend the night in that nice hotel. On Sunday, we had a meeting about the coming ski season and in particular about the development team that Benoit and Lucas are joining.

Benoit and Lucas busy with their favorite hobby: watching TV.

Not quite much snow yet but the dead tree is still there.

Ollie

On our way to Bear Valley, we first stop at the camera store where I tried one lens for my camera. I tested the lens on Lucas and Benoit. We arrived a bit early for Benoit's guitar rehearsal so we killed the time by learning how to ollie (jump) with our special board.
