Joe Bouldering at Castle Rock

It felt great to be back bouldering at Castle Rock, never mind, if the highway 17 was a parking lot after someone destroyed a poll and pull down the telephone line.

Rob and I warmed up at the Magoos and we quickly moved to check the A** arete. This compression problem can be done using the left and right arete, while with the direct variation, the right arete is off limit.

Just right after, we climbed with Joe, a super strong climber. He gave me a ton of new betas that just work. He quickly sent Hueco wall and Hueco wall traverse.

Joe crushing the Hueco wall traverse (V8).

Joe working on a variation of deforestation, skipping the nasty crimps.

Birds Hunting

Saturday morning, Lucas and I biked to Natural Bridges to hunt (photo) birds.

No idea why those planes were getting so close!

Snow Is Overrated

After we drove back from Arnold, we went for a bike ride near Natural Bridges. The surf conditions could not get any better with a huge swell and glassy waves.

Camel bags do not only provide water but also a natural place for Benoit and Lucas' mascots.

Natural Bridges and the Marine lab offer some of the best waves, with large and long barrels and stellar view points with killer sunsets. Who needs to go to Key west to see trap tourists sunset?

Tamarack Bouldering

Tamarack bouldering can be found a few miles before Bear Valley village. A few weeks ago, I noticed that nice horizontal crack which was a bit high (15 feet). We came back prepared with a rope and a few slings, so we could set up an anchor.
The anchor was flaky but the kids managed to climb half of the route and the anchor did not blew off.

Rope and bouldering do not match too well! Trying to remember the anchor class 101.

Natural rest!

View from Bear Valley resort. The snow is on its way!

Hair Cut with Barbara

Benoit is getting his air done by Barbara. The winter is approaching so we decided that it was the perfect timing for the family to get shorter hair.

Bicycle Trip Scooter - Fun Spot Santa Cruz

Matt was supposed to show us his new scooter tricks at the Bicycle Trip park but he did not show up. Never mind, Lucas and Benoit put up the show!

Santa Cruz Mural

This nice mural can be found in Santa Cruz near Telopa's old studio.

Santa Cruz Wharf By Night

Castle Rock has been wet for the last 2 to 3 weeks now, so the climbing has been done mainly at the gym. Clouds and rains do not match with climbers but do with photography. What could be more boring that a blue sky. Those white spots are not dust on the sensor but stars...

Bouldering Bas Cuvier France

About 1 year and half ago, we met at Fontainebleau Bas Cuvier, Telopa's family.

Lucas doing what he does best: Clown.

Checking a 7a which was way too hard.

Benoit was with his grand parents.

Natural Bridges

Natural Bridges is only a few blocs from our home. We come there so often that it is like our back yard.

Looks like Mars soil.

Sermentizon Church

I went to school like at Sermentizon for the 4 and 5th grades. They have restored the church and the square. Note: The sky is spooky which is a perfect timing with Halloween only a few weeks away.

Fall Colors

It has been almost 6 months that it has not rained in California. Rain is good, especially that the ski season is about to start.

Not enough room for the slugs!

So green, it cannot be in California. Indeed, it was France (Ravel) this summer!
